Una illustrazione (una ipotetica copertina?) dedicata a Project Gaia, mio ormai "antico" progetto di un fumetto fantascientifico. In primo piano Mayon, la "protagonista" (che già conoscete, cercatela nella mia gallery) e dietro di lei alcuni altri personaggi, tra cui Thera (a destra, anche lei già conosciuta qui su DA).

Questa tavola detiene un paio record. Anzitutto è la prima vera illustrazione che realizzo con dei miei personaggi originali: in passato non ero mai riuscito a portare a termine quelle che avevo iniziato. Uno dei motivi è che io non amo colorare, preferisco disegnare... quindi iniziavo a colorare ma poi interrompevo il lavoro per fare nuovi disegni, e quindi alla lunga il disegno che avevo deciso di colorare non mi piaceva più, e finiva nel dimenticatoio.
Questo rischiava di fare la stessa fine. Infatti il secondo record che detiene è che è stato terminato a metà novembre 2010 ma iniziato a fine luglio 2010: praticamente 4 mesi. Ovviamente per diversi motivi la lavorazione è stata molto discontinua, col risultato che non so giudicare il mio lavoro.
La mia inesperienza con i soggetti umani ha influito su una certa goffaggine complessiva... ma datemi tempo.

La tavola è precedente ai miei studi di anatomia umana – ai quali non avevo potuto dedicarmi prima a causa del lavoro sulla serie Dinosauri – e quindi contiene una serie di difetti in quel senso. Fate finta che non ci siano...

An illustration (a conjectural cover?) dedicated to Project Gaia, a by now "ancient" project of mine of a sci-fi graphic novel.
Mayon dominates the scene (she's Project Gaia protagonist and you already know her, look for her in my gallery) and behind her some of the other characters of the story, including Thera (on the right, you already know her too).

This plate holds a couple of records. First of all it's the first real illustration I did with my original characters: in past I wasn't able to finish the plates I began. One of the reasons was that I don't like to colour, I prefer to draw by far... then I began to colour but soon I went to make new drawings... so, I didn't like the drawing I began to colour anymore.
This plate was facing the same end. Infact the second record it holds is the very long time I needed to finish it: I started at the end of july 2010 and I ended at the middle of november 2010. Almost 4 months!
Of course – because of different reasons – the works on this illustrations were very uneventful, and this is why I'm not able to judge the results.
My inexperience with "humans" influenced the work... but be patient, I'll gain experience.

I made this painting before my human anatomy studies – which I wasn't able to study earlier because of my work on the Dinosaurs series – so there are a lot of anatomical flaws.
Then, please, pretend that there are no flaws.
