This painting is on the 3rd volume of the series "Dinosaurs", published by Jaca Book/Abbeville Press.

Styracosaurus albertensis is one of the most spectacular creatures ever lived. About the size of a Hippopotamus (5.5m/18ft long per 2 or 3 tonnes) Styracosaurus has an incredible head: a big horn on its snout plus 6/8 long "spikes" on its frill. Paleontologists has discussed a lot about frills and spikes actual function, and perhaps we will never have a definitive answer, but according to the most recent studies it's likely that frills and spikes were not "active defence" devices (they were not shields and pikes) but "passive defence" devices (to scare enemies rather than hurt them) and/or as individual identification.

Tecnically speaking, I'm pretty satisfied about the results of this work.

Since there is the text box on the top left, will this be a part of a second series, like your other ones?
